What to expect

This is a thoughtfully paced 2.5-hour dinner experience, offered over several courses with space for conversation, reflection, and quiet participation.

01 A Warm Welcome

You’ll be greeted into a calm, welcoming space where you can settle in, meet the hosts, and learn the simple agreements that guide the evening: listen with care, share only what feels right, and honor each person’s experience. The gathering is intentionally intimate, welcoming no more than 16 adults who feel ready for gentle reflection in community.

02 A Shared Meal

Dinner is served over several courses, each chosen with intention. The meal creates a natural opening for memory, reflection, and connection, allowing conversation to unfold gently around the table.

03 Guided Reflection

Dinner is served with intention. Each course creates a natural opening for memory, reflection, and connection, allowing conversation to unfold gently around the table.  You may speak, write, listen, or pass at any time.

04 A Gentle Closing

The evening ends with a grounding moment, supportive resources, and a small takeaway to help you carry the experience with you.

Questions you may have

Please reach us at hello@foodstorieshealing.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

No. Guests are always free to speak, write, listen, or pass.

No. The Gathering Table is a guided community experience, not counseling or a clinical support group.

Guests can share dietary restrictions during registration; available accommodations will be stated for each dinner.

The Gathering Table is for adults who are generally at least six months beyond the death of someone significant and feel ready for gentle group reflection. While some dinners may focus on a particular type of loss, the overall experience welcomes people with a range of bereavement experiences. The six-month guideline does not mean grief should be resolved; it recognizes that the earliest months of loss can be especially acute.
